BACKWELL PLAYHOUSE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Thursday 17^th November 2017

7.30pm – doors open from 7pm

The AGM is the time to take stock of the year before, looking at all elements of the Playhouse. It is also the opportunity for members to question the committee, and to elect new committee members.

If you are interested in joining the Playhouse Management Committee, we would be delighted to hear from you.  For more information, either have a chat with a member of the committee at the AGM, or contact us and we will be happy to pass the enquiry on.

 We are especially excited to announce that the AGM is the first Playhouse event to make use of the newly-finished bar/foyer after its recent refit.  Please come along and have a look at the amazing new design of the foyer, and enjoy a free glass of wine or soft drink with us.

All are welcome, but only members can vote on Playhouse matters.

AliCaT pre school is lucky to be involved in a Backwell Rocks challenge this week.  AliCaT is hiding a very special gift to the children somewhere in the theatre.  Who ever finds it will be able to pass on the challenge, who will find him? and where will he hide next?

Welcome back to Term 2 at AliCaT

I hope everyone has had a great October half term break.  Just to keep you up to date, our foyer is slowly progressing but it promises to be worth the wait!

Thank you so much for your patience and support during this period, I hope to announce the full unveiling very soon, where you can once again enjoy the theatre foyer and it’s brand new facilities.

Just a little reminder Term 1 finishes today 20th October 2017 and Term 2 begins again Monday 30th October 2017.  Thanks to everyone for a great first term! All shows have been cast and rehearsals are well underway!

It is with great excitement AliCaT is able to announce their involvement with Backwell Playhouse Theatre Company’s Pantomime ‘Mother Goose’.  Children from AliCaT will be performing in January 2018 and tickets are going fast! Welcome back everyone.  I hope you have all had a great summer break and are feeling refreshed and ready to start another exciting year of theatre.  Projects are in place, dates have been finalised and now I’m looking forward to seeing all the AliCaT children and parents, both old and new and working together to produce the very best theatre experience for all!

BACKWELL PLAYHOUSE RENOVATIONS

Our beloved little theatre is getting a make over…Today was day one of improvements to the Foyer area…new bar, a new colour, new flooring, new seating arrangements

…cannot wait to see the results!

FLOWER POWER BALLOON MAKING

Another fun packed day at our beloved little theatre!  www.backwellplayhouse.co.uk It always surprises me how much you can achieve when an enthusiastic group of children get together to create theatre.  It’s a time when you get to know each other properly, building friendships and bonds that hopefully remain in children’s memories…

Workshops today included, 1960’s makeup, flower power balloon making and set preparations…final performance tomorrow at 4pm

WELCOME TO THE 1960’s

Day 3 and rehearsals are well underway for our final project to be performed on Friday 4th August (4pm), at Backwell Playhouse… www.backwellplayhouse.co.uk. Here are just a few of the historical events we have been learning about in Junior Summer School this year.

Today the children designed their own costumes and the final projections for our 1960’s ‘eye’ have been programmed.  It’s looking great!

It’s that time of year!
