Who We Are
Ali Riddiford (BA Hons)
I was introduced to theatre from an early age, with both parents working and performing in the profession. My experience spans dance, choreography and over 25 years in early years education and leadership.
My passion is empowering every child to find their voice. Influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach, my teaching starts with each child’s development, building on their individual interests, strengths and learning.
Studying at Bath Spa University strengthened my vision to bring these experiences together and create an accessible, engaging theatre education for children. Ali
Shaun Batt (MA BA)
Shaun is the other valued member of the AliCaT team.
His background in acting, text interpretation, script analysis, and Shakespeare adds another dimension to AliCaT, particularly in supporting children’s comprehension of stagecraft and confidence building.
Alongside this, Shaun brings a strong range of qualifications, including a BA LAMDA, MA in Post Production, and Neuroscience in Early Years (NCFE CACHE Level 2).

AliCaT began from a love of theatre and a belief that drama can change children’s lives. We wanted a space where children felt:
