When you end up taking your work home with you… Transitions are very important when telling a story, and these masks are a great way of providing movement and atmosphere when learning about Ancient Greek theatre!

The Blue Bottle set for the Junior casts of 2018…Designed by Shaun Batt, assisted by Ali of AliCaT Children and Theatre…
The children have been very busy creating wonderful story corners with the exciting resources we have found hidden in our theatre! We’ve created a spiders web, had a picnic on the moon and even gone on a ghost hunt!…Take a look!
“Scaredy-Cat, Splat!” by Rob Scotton (bestselling author of SPLAT THE CAT, LOVE SPLAT, AND MERRY CHRISTMAS, SPLAT!)
It’s Halloween and Splat is determined to be the scariest cat in the class. Unfortunately he’s just too much of a scaredy-cat. He’s afraid of a little spider, and everyone says his costume looks more silly than scary. But when the lights go back on after a ghost story in the dark, the entire class is scared silly by a small, black, furry creature with a big pumpkin head…who can it be?

It is an opportunity to get messy, design and paint props, enjoy a make-up workshop (from the guidance of our Make-up Consultant Helen Coupe), and have the freedom to put their interpretations into the work they have been doing all week.

This weekend has been a fabulous success! I want to thank everyone involved in their contribution to making ‘The Blue Bottle’ an excellent theatre experience for the children and families. We saw four shows this weekend from the Junior AliCaT’s and I am so proud of all their achievements.
I personally would like to thank Shaun Batt for his amazing set, photography, filming of the show and encouragement throughout the whole process, Susie Pain for her hard work and dedication to the children and me, Fiona and Pearl Milton for their help and support and Mary Gould, Connie Gould, John Jones, Mum and Dad for their full commitment to the whole weekend.
